Practical Tips for English Exams

Only a few days remain before the start of the English exams. After 24 years in education, I share practical advice that helps my students achieve better results, stay focused and manage exam stress.

Before the exams

Set a study schedule so that there is time for proper revision.

Make sure you understand the material; otherwise, ask your teachers for extra help.

Review past exam papers and practice through them.

Take necessary breaks. Continuous studying for long hours can make you tired and less focused, leading to increased levels of stress.

Ensure you get enough sleep. A good night's sleep will refresh both your body and mind.

Maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Even a short walk in your neighborhood can uplift your mood.

If you feel extremely stressed, discuss it with your parents and friends.

Think positively. You don't need to subject yourself to catastrophic scenarios.

Avoid overdoing it the day before the exams. It's better to relax, go for a walk with friends, watch a movie, or listen to music.

On the day of the exam

Start your day with a good breakfast to boost your energy.

Arrive at the exam center early to avoid additional stress.

Read the questions carefully 2 or 3 times before answering. Begin with those you know well and leave the challenging ones for later.

Remember that time is limited, so manage it wisely.

Don't leave any questions unanswered, even if you are unsure about the answer.

Before submitting your written work, carefully check it.

Even if you finish early, utilize the entire exam time.

Good luck!!!
